In his recent announcement, Minister Stokes set a deadline for the rezoning of 18,000 houses across Glenfield, Lowes Creek Maryland, Leppington and Wilton Town Centre.
The announcement came as a response to the housing supply crisis in Greater Sydney. It was the first instance that the Minister for Planning admitted that the housing supply crisis is driving up the prices of homes in Sydney.
While this rezoning is good news, it will take a few years for these houses to be built, meaning that further rezoning and action needs to be taken to prevent prices from continuing to soar.
